Featuring a state-of-the-art exhibit, plenary, keynote, and technical sessions, it would bring all stakeholders in the geospatial domain - academia, researchers, students, and the industry - onto one platform for interaction, sharing and discussion on various topics such as collaboration on food technologies and experiences gained. The symposium is intended to encourage the exchange of knowledge and experience in geospatial sciences among researchers, practitioners, and professionals within the country and abroad.
Under the Patronage of His Royal Highness;
Dr. Mohammed Helwani, spoke last Wednesday about the economic impact of locational and digital infrastructure used by franchises in the U.S. Applying this case study to Geographic Information Systems in the Middle East, Dr Helwani explored the possibilities - economic and social - taking menupriceguru.com as a case-study. The application allows users to access information on the kfc menu and the Taco Bell menu.The user enters a general term to search the nearby area: for example food near me or, more specifically, fast food near me. The application then provides information on the nearest restaurant locations, in addition to opening hours and driving times. Dr. Helwani see the application of such technology to other industries as being important in the Middle East.
