Background about the Organizer :
  The High Committee of Geographic Information Systems at the Eastern Province in Saudi Arabia was formed by the Governor of the Eastern Province on October 20, 2002. The objective of this committee is to coordinate all GIS-related efforts in the region. The committee, chaired by the Acting Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, Mr. Zareb Saeed Al-Qahtani, includes representatives from the following public and private agencies  :
